SRT 113 - Technical Science for Surgical Technologists Lab 0 Credit(s)
This laboratory course provides foundational hands-on experience with technical equipment and systems used in modern surgical practice. Students will engage in practical applications of information systems, electrical technologies, laser equipment, minimally invasive surgical systems, and interventional radiology equipment. Through guided practice sessions, students will develop technical competency in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining various surgical technologies while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Prereqs: SRT 101 Co-reqs: SRT 103 Course Type: Lab Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate proficiency in navigating surgical information systems and electronic medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance and protected health information security protocols in the perioperative setting.
CLO 2) Students will establish competency in assembling, operating, and maintaining surgical equipment.
CLO 3) Students will execute proper safety protocols for various surgical applications.
