NUR 265 - Advanced Professional Nursing Across the Lifespan II Lab 0 Credit(s)
Builds on NUR 116 . Students demonstrate knowledge of and ability to safely and accurately perform nursing skills in a safe learning environment using multimedia, textbooks, self-direction, demonstrations and lab staff assistance. Included: IV push medication administration, central line management and dressing change, initiation and maintenance of blood transfusions, and advanced medication math.
Prereqs: NUR 106 Co-reqs: NUR 255 & NUR 275 Course Type: Lab Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate proficiency in the following nursing skills: IV push medication administration, central line care, initiation and management of blood transfusions, communication regarding patient needs using the SBAR model, and skills from the previous terms.
CLO 2) Students will incorporate theoretical nursing knowledge into the hands-on application of nursing skills using the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate proficiency in advanced medication mathematics skills and medication administration.
