OTA 226 - OTA Practicum I 4 Credit(s)
Level II Fieldwork is the opportunity to practice full time in the field during an 8-week rotation under direct supervision of a clinical fieldwork educator. Practice emphasis using the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF) as it relates to the implementation of treatment, including documentation, facilitation of activities of daily living performance, functional activities, treatment planning/implementation, and addressing environmental barriers.
Prereqs: OTA 205 , OTA 215 , & OTA 225 with a passing grade (75% or higher for each) Co-reqs: OTA 206 Course Type: Clinical Tuition Tier: Tier II Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate the ability to facilitate increased independence in occupational performance areas for individuals with varying levels of ability.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate an understanding of appropriate treatment activities tailored to individuals with diverse abilities.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate competent performance in conducting assessments and implementing intervention techniques.
CLO 4) Students will describe the processes involved in discharge planning, transitions, and termination of occupational therapy services.
CLO 5) Students will identify appropriate specialists for referral, consultation, or assistance as needed in occupational therapy practice.
CLO 6) Students will use technology effectively to locate and access necessary resources for occupational therapy services.
CLO 7) Students will demonstrate the ability to accurately and professionally document occupational therapy services within various practice settings.
CLO 8) Students will consistently demonstrate safe, ethical, and professional behavior in all aspects of occupational therapy practice.
