OTA 225 - Occupation Based Activities III 0 Credit(s)
Builds on fundamental competency skills and concepts of entry-level practice using occupation-based activities and the essential role occupation plays in the delivery of occupational therapy services. The Occupational Therapy Practice Framework and the AOTA Fieldwork Performance Evaluation will be the basis of practical application for understanding entry-level competency in various clinical and non-clinical settings.
Prereqs: OTA 106 , OTA 116 , & OTA 126 with a passing grade (75% or higher for each) Co-reqs: OTA 205 & OTA 215 Course Type: Clinical Tuition Tier: Tier II Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will identify appropriate specialists and referral resources to support intervention planning, funding, collaboration, and programming in both traditional and emerging areas of practice.
CLO 2) Students will use technology to access resources related to client-centered programming, assistive technology, accessibility, advocacy, and professional development.
CLO 3) Students will collect, organize, and report data to support evaluation of practice outcomes under the supervision of an OT, administrator, or manager.
CLO 4) Students will describe the rationale for evidence-based practice and demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and apply professional literature to make informed practice decisions.
CLO 5) Students will implement strategies to promote health literacy and cultural competency in occupational therapy service delivery.
CLO 6) Students will compare models of service delivery and OTA roles in care coordination, case management, and transitions, while consistently demonstrating ethical, entry-level professional behaviors.
