SRT 214 - Surgical Techniques II Lab 0 Credit(s)
This laboratory course provides hands-on training in surgical techniques and preoperative procedures, building upon foundational skills from Surgical Techniques I lab. Students will practice sterile technique, patient preparation, surgical counts, gowning procedures, and maintenance of the sterile field in the lab environments. Through guided practice and skills assessments, students will develop proficiency in performing preoperative protocols while maintaining professional standards and patient safety.
Prereqs: SRT 106 Co-reqs: SRT 204 & SRT 224 Course Type: Lab Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply proper techniques for prepping, handling, and positioning instruments and patients across multiple surgical specialities.
CLO 2) Students will execute accurate protocols of surgical equipment and specialty instruments across multiple surgical specialties.
CLO 3) Students will execute proper safety protocols for various surgical applications with attention on emergency situations and breaks in sterile techniques.
