SRT 224 - Surgical Techniques II Practicum 0 Credit(s)
Supervised clinical experience integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills in surgical technology in simulation and the clinical setting. This course emphasizes hands-on patient care and professional competence. Students will complete a minimum of 50 cases as the first or second scrub (and a cumulative total of at least 65 cases between SRT 126 & SRT 224).
Prereqs: SRT 106 Co-reqs: SRT 204 & SRT 214 Course Type: Practicum Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply proficient surgical technology skills in clinical and simulated environments.
CLO 2) Students will develop professional competency by performing in the scrub role during an arranged clinical experience.
CLO 3) Students will complete a minimum of 50 surgical cases demonstrating competence in equipment management and instrumentation handling while following the principles of asepsis in a surgical case.
