Introduction to baton techniques and elements of interpretation in conducting choral and instrumental music.
Prereqs: MUS 101 or MUS 131 or MUS 132 or MUS 281 or MUS 282 Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will be able to conduct basic simple and compound beat patterns in choral and instrumental music.
CLO 2) Students will be able to cue entrances and cutoffs, and read musical scores.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate expressive conducting skills by applying appropriate gestures to communicate dynamics, articulation, and phrasing in choral and instrumental settings.
