SRT 225 - Surgical Techniques III Practicum 0 Credit(s)
Supervised clinical experience integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills of surgical technology in simulation and the clinical setting. This course emphasizes hands-on patient care and professional competence. Students will complete enough cases to have a cumulative total of at least 120 cases with at least 80 cases as the first scrub (among SRT 126 , SRT 224 , & SRT 225).
Prereqs: SRT 204 Co-reqs: SRT 205 & SRT 215 Course Type: Practicum Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply proficient surgical technology skills in clinical and simulated environments during increasingly complex surgical cases.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate professional competence in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care management as a surgical technician.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate procedural proficiency in equipment management and instrumentation handling while following the principles of asepsis in surgical cases by completing a cumulative total of 120 cases with at least 80 cases as the first scrub among practicums.
